Come Fly With Me

Kayla and Zach's engagement session was a dream that I have been planning for about a year now, and our dreams finally came true!

I first met Kayla and Zach at a Starbucks last fall, when they had seen some of my images from another bride and she wanted to see if I'd we'd be a match for their wedding in March. Instantly formed a couples crush on them- besides for being super fun and gorgeous - they are obsessed with golden hour, value photography and beautiful portraits for their day, which makes me excited.

I had an idea for a shoot with airplanes for a while and knew they'd be the perfect couple to bring here. Just so happens when I told them about the idea, that the Air Force, airplanes, and pilots, had been an influence in both of their lives- so that was pretty cool.

We had this session scheduled for 3 times before it actually happened, got rained out too many times, but it was so worth the wait! We went to a privately owned airstrip, old friends of my family, was incredibly nice to let us come there, and we spent a couple hours running around golden hour playing with their plans and laughing a ton.

I hope you enjoy their magical session, and you better believe I'll be posting their wedding in March!

You know what they say about rain on your wedding day?

Everyone knows, right? Good luck!!! But not just good luck, it makes for special moments. Ok, I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy right now and why would you ever want rain on your wedding day? Britney and Brian's October wedding was my first wedding ever shot in the pouring rain- and I'm crazy obsessed with their day and everything about it. Not only did they have THE BEST attitudes at the beginning of their day, it was filled with love and laughter- no tears about the rain, no complaining about the dress getting dirty, none of that! I think Britney and Brian would tell you that their day was perfect, if you asked them. There were so many beautiful moments to their day- from their first look in the rain, capturing them saying their vows privately to each other before the ceremony, to Britney's Dad's tears throughout the day- because he knew her daughter had chosen the perfect man to now take care of her. I hope you enjoy living in their special day for a moment, and know that your day will be just as perfect- no matter what.

the most golden engagement session at piedmont park

It's crazy that I live right on Piedmont Park, and this is my first engagement session here! My husband, Brett and I, are so lucky to live in such a vibrant city, and we need to take more advantage of the park! Victoria had booked me over 5 months ago, when one of my friends showed her my work and she felt as if we'd be a match, and now I'm obsessed with her and Lucius! They had so much fun the whole time, and Brett also tagged along to walk their adorable dogs throughout the session (and he did a GREAT job) and the love between them really made their images come alive.

Vicky and LJ wanted their session at Piedmont Park, because this was the same spot they met 3 years ago (I LOVE when couples incorporate memories into their sessions). Victoria knew LJ was something special when they met, so she made the move of asking him when he was going to take her out! Love a girl that knows what she wants!

They both love to travel, and started traveling right away, and fell in love city to city, country to country!

Their proposal is the best story yet- check this out!

One day in November 2016 when Vicky was flying back from Chicago for a work trip, LJ was at the airport with bags packed waiting for her. He made her believe that they were going the LSU v FL game in New Orleans - but instead she quickly found out they were actually going to her favorite FL city, Key West! (good thing she already had a bathing suit packed!)

They landed in Key West with perfect weather and headed straight to the beach. LJ had a stranger take a picture of them, but then he got down on one knee and asked Vicky to marry him!

They celebrated their engagement the whole weekend in style, with romantic sunsets and beach brunches- the rest is history! They are going back to Florida next fall to get married, and I cannot wait to see their breathtaking photos.

Thanks for the memories guys, so glad our paths have crossed!
