Golden Hour Magic: Carillon Beach Family Photography
Once a year, I pack up my camera gear and head to the beautiful shores of Carillon Beach, FL, for a limited number of family sessions. While I’m a North Atlanta-based photographer specializing in families, newborns, and maternity, this annual trip is one of my favorites. There’s something truly magical about capturing families against the backdrop of soft sand, rolling waves, and the golden Florida sunset.
My Approach to Beach Photography
Lighting is everything in photography, and the beach presents a unique opportunity to embrace the sun in all its glory. I seek out golden-hour light, just before sunset, when the sun is low and its warm rays create that dreamy, glowing effect. The way the light reflects off the water and sand adds depth, warmth, and a natural radiance to every image. I also love incorporating sun rays into my compositions, creating a soft, golden haze that makes every photo feel timeless and full of warmth.
